Welcome to TravellingK's vintage caravan wishlist
This store is all about my big project to renovate the broken down vintage caravan I foolishly bought. It's basically an empty shell, so will need a lot of work. Do you want to help get the project finished? You can buy a specific item below that I'll need for this renovation and if you like, I shall mention your name in the appropriate video. This project wouldn't be possible without you - a big thank you!
|Selleys Autofix - Windscreen Sealant|
I’ve realised water is getting in through the window seals! Thought this product would work the best for me…

|Awning Light 12V Complete Silver|
Gone for a silver one to match the rest of the exterior!
|1 in stock||$50.33|
|Fiamma Water Filler Cap|
Fills up the 20L onboard tank. I need this now to add to the walls before I can add the lining.

|Whale Aquasmart External Mounting Socket|
I also want a water tank that sits next to the caravan! Two ways to get water onboard. Is there a way to make it black?

|Caravan Hatch Quadrant Stay|
To keep the hatches open or closed… would be nice to have them not slam in the wind!

|BEP Contour Double Switch|
A 12v light switch for by the door. This will control the outside light and the ‘dining room’ light. One of my pet pevs with my current caravan is coming in at night and reaching up to the base of the main light, attempting to find the tiny switch in the dark.

|BEP 6-Way ATC Fuse Holder|
Starting to think more about the electrics! This will be by the door to sort out this side of the caravan. Burnsco: Fuse holder suitable for DC circuits.

|Altex Marine Surfacer Undercoat|
I think I should get the correct undercoat for the bottom section of the caravan. I’m hoping I can get away with less paint than the top coat.

|Haydn Mini Roller Kit 110mm White|
I contacted White Knight and asked what the best roller was. Does look like this is the one!
|Out of stock||$7.18||Read more|
|Altex Regatta Gloss Enamel 4L|
This is for the bottom part of the outside. I was thinking of sticking with the same paint brand as the roof, but a lot of advice I’ve been given is to use boat paint… International looks great, but Altex is a little more affordable. Still not sure what colour I’ll use. I wanted a dark grey for the bottom part, but the colours are limited. Apparently this will give a high gloss enamel finish and I’m keen to try this brush technique viewers have mentioned!
|1 in stock||$116.61|
|White Knight Rust Guard Epoxy Enamel Paint 4L Aluminium|
Since I’ve decided to paint the top sides of the caravan, I’ve decided to do it in the same aluminium paint as the roof. Keep it consistent! I’ve learnt from the roof that I’ll actually need 4L for this. From Bunnings again and shall break up the cost of NZ$149.
|Out of stock||$50.00||Read more|
|White Knight Rust Guard Grey Metal Primer|
I’ve decided I should paint over the aluminium I’ve spent so long revealing… particularly since there are a couple of spots that don’t seem that well sealed! First off, I’ll need to prime the metal ready for the paint.

|Epoxy to keep out moisture in wood|
There is some interior wood that could become a problem in the future. Sound like I could use this product to stop the wood from disintegrating! It says: epoxy based material that is best suited as a wood saturation system to help harden, densify and seal out moisture.

|Surface Mount 240v Inlet|

|Vents to disguise holes|
I’ve got a few holes on the side of the caravan and really need a few ways to hide them. I thought I could add a couple of vents for the large holes made by the 240v exterior plug! From Burnsco.

|Solar Power - The Starter Kit|
I’m a huge fan of solar and have been eyeing this kit that I could install myself. The retail price is $1,850.00 which includes a 315w Solar panel, 12v200ah Deep cycle Gel battery, MPPT Charge controller and 600W Inverter. I’m going to break this cost down to many many parts! From Grid Free
|22 in stock||$34.09|
|Pinetrim 24mm x 24mm x 2.4m D4S Untreated Clear Pine|
To start strengthening the walls inside! I’ll be needing a lot of these…
|1 in stock||$17.46|
|Replacing Front Window|
An expensive one… replacing the front window. I’ve got a $520 quote, but currently getting another. I’ve broken down this item into six seperate contributions to be close to what it might cost. Really interesting reading everyones comments on the ‘smashed’ video. I’m currently leaning towards replacing with glass again because safetly glass becomes extremely expensive. Thinking of adding a film to stop it damaging anything if it does break again. Still need to research about the film too!

|Plas-T-Cote Roof Sealer 3.785 L|
